The indian name for pineapple, "inka'
ti", or "sweet smelling fruit",
illustrates at least one of the characteristics
of this delicious and well known tropical
fruit. Native to South America, it was offered
to the first Europeans who came to America,
as a gesture of welcome and hospitality.
Nowadays, pineapples are cultivated in many
different regions, including Africa, China,
Indoia, Java, Philippines, Hawaii and others.
Uses
The pulp can be used in the preparation of
juice, ice cream, wine, liqueur and sweets.
