In Amazon, açaí is an important constituent of the local diet because of its high nutritional value and the unanimous preference of local people for its unique taste. It has rich irons, calciums, phosphorous and varieties of others.

The pulp can be used in the preparation of juice, ice cream, wine, liqueur or sweets.
