Native to Central America, "acerola",
or barbados cherry, is also known as cherry
of the Antilles. It is apprecoiated as one
of the richest fruits in vitamin C, containing
levels 100 times higher than orange. It is
currently cultured widely in many Brazilian
regions, mainly in the North and Northeast.
Uses
The pulp can be used in the preparation of
juice, ice cream, wine, liqueur or sweets
and vitamin C tablets.
